Synopsis
Sofia, Hedvig and Maja grew up with grief. They were only 8, 10 and 16 years old when their mother took her own life. In Daughters, we meet the sisters as children and in their early adult years, as they reflect on what it is like to come of age in the aftermath of trauma.
Director
Works with both documentary and fiction. Many of her films have been shown successfully at festivals around the world: On Suffocation had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where earlier I Fred and Födelsedag were shown. Her films have been called realistic with elements of everyday surrealism and absurdism. On Suffocation won the Guldbagge Award for Best Swedish Short Film in 2014.
