ROSE CORY

Rose Cory began performing before her teenage years in local community theater. Before going to university to study fine art, she spent more than a year performing in a Correctional School for Children as a volunteer.  After getting a B.F.A., Rose trained in a variety of arts, none of which gave sufficient form to what she hoped to say.

Somewhere in the late 90s, the character of Rose Wood was to become her performance character.  Variety shows, drag shows, burlesque, and platform dancing in escort bars became her focus, and Rose was the featured act of a running cabaret show "Shock and Awe A Go Go".  Rose received a variety of awards, was the subject of five documentaries, and included in several others, as well as several film and television appearances.  In 2007, The Box, an award-winning variety theater and club directed by Simon Hammerstein, opened in NYC, and Rose quickly became the featured act.  Since the theater opened, Rose has appeared nightly, doing 3,000 shows and now, 11 years later, shows no signs of slowing.  She goes back and forth between Box venues in NYC and London.  Rose has performed all over the world in some of the chicest and most luxurious venues, as well as the grittiest and most dangerous.   Facebook Twitter Google+ Pinterest
