Maguey Award Queer Icon a Zemmoa
Producer, videographer, model, painter, actress, singer-songwriter, pianist and member of the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico, the multidisciplinary artist, Zemmoa, has managed to position herself as one of the most avant-garde talents in Mexico, breaking paradigms and imposing her courage by making the queer-trans community visible.
Her musical career began with her first album, Puro Desamor Vol.1, followed by NNVAV (in reference to the phrase: Nothing is going to beat us, in spanish) and, finally, Covers, a tribute to artists and symbolic songs through new explorations of musical classics.
She participated in the festival for sexual diversity, Outmusik, and published Lo Que Me Haces Sentir, which she defines as a journey of emotions in search of the meaning of love, of meeting and exalting the legacy of being herself. At the same time, she made Hablen con Ellas, a short film tribute to Pedro Almodóvar, and acted in the films, Deep Gold and BDAY, and in the series, Aquí en la Tierra.
Later, the firm, Paloma & Ancostura, designed the special collection, Zemmoa: Ícono Trans Mexicano, a series of T-shirts with phrases that characterize her lyrics in favor of Latin female visibility. A year later, she was recognized by the UN as an official spokesperson for the rights of the LGBTI+ population and became the first trans model to be part of a campaign for Calvin Klein.
