PEPE RUILOBA – JURY MEMBER OF THE 9th EDITION OF THE QUEER PALM AT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

Pepe Ruiloba, Premio Maguey Coordinator and Programmer within the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), will be part of the jury of the 9th edition of the Queer Palm award at the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place on May 8-19th, 2018.

The Queer Palm was founded in 2010 by journalist Franck Finance-Madureira, and recognizes the best film with LGBT+ subject matters within the program of the different festival sections, including the Official Selection, Un Certain Regard, International Critics’ Week, Directors’ Fortnight, and the Association for the Distribution of Independent Cinema (ACID).

Previous Queer Palm winners include Kaboom (2010), Beauty (2011), Laurence Anyways (2012), Stranger by the Lake (2013), Pride (2014), Carol (2015), The Lives of Thérèse (2016), and BPM (Beats per Minute) (2017).

Other members of the Queer Palm Jury include producer Sylvie Pialat (President), actress/editor Dounia Sichov, director/writer Morgan Simon, and film critic Boyd van Hoeij.
