Synopsis

This celebration of Little Richard reveals the Black queer origins of rock ‘n’ roll, finally exploding the whitewashed canon of American pop music. Through archival and performance footage, the revolutionary icon’s life unspools with all of its switchbacks and contradictions.

Director

Lisa Cortes is an Academy Award nominated and Emmy-winning producer and director. She is renowned for creating challenging, visionary stories and empowering inclusive voices. Her film, All In: The Fight For Democracy, which she directed with Liz Garbus, made the Oscar documentary short-list and was nominated for BAFTA, WGA, and NAACP awards. Her latest film is Little Richard: I Am Everything.
