Synopsis

Mary travels from Honduras to the United States in search of her son, a migrant kidnapped in Mexico. During her journey, she joins other mothers looking for their children across the country and understands the magnitude of the disappearance crisis in the area. Francisco, the dean of the Pesh ethnic group, faces the destruction of the Mosquitia jungle, the emigration of his children and the disappearance of his own language. He undertakes a journey into the heart of the jungle to understand. “Toshkua”, a word that means “to disappear” in the Honduran Pesh language, tells the story of those who fight against disappearance.

Director

He has written and made five documentaries on violence and politics in Mexico. His film Guerrero (2017) was selected and awarded at numerous Mexican and international festivals and was awarded the Silver Goddess for best documentary by the Association of Film Journalists of Mexico (PECIME).
