Bombas de Tiempo Humanas

Human Timebombs
Documentary | Iceland | 2015 | 40 min | English

Synopsis

Sunna Valdis, a girl who lives with her family in Iceland, suffers from Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC), a very strange disease. This documentary reveals the difficulties she faces on a daily basis, presenting in turn testimonies from doctors, researchers and family members. Scientists point out that a cure for the disease would be possible, but does not currently exist due to high research and development costs, as well as the disinterest of pharmaceutical companies in such a low-profit drug, required only by a few thousand people worldwide.

Director

Author and director graduated from COC in California with degrees in Film and TV Production. Her films have won several international awards. In 2015, she co-founded AHC International Media with Sigurdur Holmar Johannesson, with a mission to produce interviews and online material to keep information flowing and push research on the AHC disorder.
