7 Lagos, 7 Vidas

7 Lives, 7 Lakes
Documentary | Spain | 2021 | 105 min | Spanish

Synopsis

"One doesn't think about dying; with ALS you know that you are going to die and that it will be sooner than later. You constantly have to keep in mind that you must take advantage of everything."

David Riaño, a CSIC researcher diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (a degenerative disease that affects motor neurons), wants to fulfill his dream of touring Eastern Europe and bathing in its lakes. Adapting a van to live in it, with the help of his caregivers Mbake (a Senegalese driver) and Rubén (a tuno from Alcalá de Henares), David will try to make sense of his illness by doing what he likes the most: traveling and floating in water.
