Synopsis
Throughout the 70s, journalist Elías Barahona, a.k.a. "El Topo" (The Mole), infiltrated the heart of one of the most repressive governments in Guatemala. By unveiling the story of this reserved and unique individual, The silence of the Mole captures the moments when revelations from the past open cracks in the walls of silence in a country whose history remains hidden.
Director
Director and producer of documentaries, graduated in Political Science. She has directed several short films that have been screened at international festivals, universities and communities. In 2019 she participated in the Berlinale Talents and the IDFA Academy School. The Silence of the Mole, her first feature documentary, premiered at Hot Docs 2021 at international spectrum competition.
