Synopsis

Iris and Ariel are 17-year-old twins who live with their mother and older sister in an old house in the middle of a rocky island covered in shellfish and birds. The teenagers have grown up isolated from the mainland, in a sibling relationship that exceeds the limits of normal intimacy. The abrupt absence of their mother deeply hurts the three siblings, and Iris, moved by a strong need to separate from her brother, decides to go to the city alone for the first time.

Director

Alba, her debut feature, premiered in Rotterdam, won 35 international awards at more than 100 festivals, including a Special Mention at San Sebastián. Alba was the representative of Ecuador for the Oscars and was screened at the MoMA in NY. Octopus Skin, premiered in San Sebastián and was made with the support of Cinema du Monde, World Cinema Fund and won 5 awards at Guadalajara Construye.
